SSD Overview – Which one should you buy? – Samsung / SanDisk / Crucial / ADATA / PNY

With all the choices of Solid State Drives (SSD) out there, it can be quite confusing what to get, why you should consider each one.

This is my summary of the 7 SSDs worth considering either for a performance computer or a mainstream machine. I have split them into two groups to make it easier.

First, we have the performance tier:

Which ssd drive good for gaming

Rob Frankel says:

Hi… Thanks for a really good video. I’m designing a vehicle mounted camera system, and have had endless problems with HDD’s failing due to high impact and high G-forces. Obviously spec’ing SSD’s will help in this regard. What I’d like to know, is whether the higher end SSD’s are any tougher than the entry level ones. Is there a particular brand whose SSD’s are known to be really tough and to be able to withstand high G-forces? For me, with this project, the speed of the drive is not as crucial as how tough it is. Thanks again.

NolimitsCoasterManiak says:

the samsung evo 240 gb is cheaper in the netherlands than the adata sp500(94 euros vs 99 euros)

Beta Shadow says:

Unfortunately, the 500GB now sells for $180, which, to me, doesn’t sound like the best deal anymore. Almost paying double for double storage is a huge turn off compared to paying 0.5% more for double. 250GB also jumped to $104. I don’t get it. I don’t get why SSD prices are suddenly climbing back up? It feels like a while back, the lowest a 500GB would go was $150, now all SSDs are climbing back up in price!

Jake Perfect says:

At 12:13 he takes so long to transition

Kio says:

i have a a8-7600 of APU, GTX 1050ti, 8gb 1600 of Hyper X RAM, which SSD should be perfect for this system unit

JPR300 says:

Really strange, i live in Europe and in my country the 850 evo 500gb is like 189euros but the Ultra II 960gb is whopping 309euros.

What about Drevo SSDs that are sold on Amazon for cheap? Do you think they’re reliable? Thank you.

Jeremy says:

This man stares into my fucking soul

Truong Nguyen says:

I guess I have a high end rig, an i7 and 1070. I have a crucial ssd and I’m happy with it. Pretty fast to me

Corvo says:

MelzarDaMad says:

ColonelRuiz says:

Hi guys, My board only has sata 3G. How much am i missing vs having sata 6G if i use the faster SSDs? If i only have 3G, would it be more sensible to stick with the “slower” SSDs? And whats the diference of AHIC and IDE modes? I know this is an old video but hopefuly someone can share some info

WisdomFall says:
