Der8auer released a video (and took it down again after a day – I think because the board he used was still under NDA – ASUS APEX TR4 board) about NVMe Raid with two nice x16 cards, each with 4 NVME 960 Pro in them in RAID. He endet at ~27 GB/s transferspeed. He called it: Thats what 64 lanes are for !

IT COMPUTE Knowledge Base says:

Great video, I found the troubleshooting tips highly valuable for the new hardware.

KrKyoutube says:

Seems to be a really nice motherboard but will never buy one with leds that i can’t turn off and that has more than 3 simple led lights.
Do not want my money to go for nicknacks that are useless.

MikaelKKarlsson says:

The Threadripper platform sure is getting more and more interesting. I’m good with 8 cores today but maybe next year with the new manufacturing process and expected slight performance boost.

Meanwhile in la-la land, same socket CPU release requires new platform.

Sebastian Wagner says:

Hey Wendell, 2 small questions: 1.) is the 4.2ghz overclock on a review sample or on a consumer CPU? Couple people mentioned the consumer ones doesn’t overclock that well, max 3.9 what most people get and 2.) is there any chance you can get your hands on the ASROCK Fatal1ty x399 Board? Seams like perfect for me, 2x1gig + 1x10gig nic on board. Couldn’t find any infos on IOMMU situation on that board. Do you have any infos or maybe a planed review and tests in the future? @level1techs Love your videos, keep up the great work. Greetings from Germany!

Wendel and level 1 tech FTW!!!!!!!!! dude so glad i followed you guys.

CrimSun says:

Hm…I wonder if those impedance switchers can drive a 400 ohm Beyerdynamic DT-100

Ashot Vardanian says:

Is RAM limited to 128 Gb, or its the maximum supported size of a single module?

HAHA. If I was going to do that, I’d buy a file server that can handle 8 NVMe. And I’m talking about enterprise class that you can’t afford, and they do have them, but I don’t need it. Mine has 4.

Jarrod'sTech says:

Not a fan of the orange lighting, at least with RGB you can customize it.

genomeprojekt says:

Good guy Level1Techs, showing the UEFI at the end of motherboard reviews.

Michael Murphy says:

Thank you for addressing how well the Ethernet NIC works on linux. I was thinking I wouldn’t get this board cuz it didn’t have an Intel NIC but now I will reconsider

xzero01501 says:

Velho Joel says:
