Christopher Merritt says:

How effectual do you think it is to choose parts on say Newegg by narrowing it down by features that you want along with your price points? Does this lead to balanced builds or can it lead to a lot of crossed wires?

I’ve been starting with my CPU and video card/monitor choices and then picking each of the other components by using the a narrowing process down to one page of products, then I choose the features, then I choose the aesthetic.

I then put it all in PC part picker as a double check.

I’m still new to this and have bought and built a gaming PC yet but I imagine this is good practice while I save up my budget.
