Is it possible to put a password on these?
can u tell that whether USB type A connection also gives same speed I mean for 2015 MacBook pro like models
I always wonder about design flaws like that indicator light when all through the design phase and production phase not one person spotted that and realized that most users do have the plug on the back faced away from them. I see more and more of this type of sloppiness in today’s world.
Your video was copied and put on another channel. I would file a claim to have it removed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-1Bz-JkuNQ
have you ever seen the inside of an external hdd? you’ll know why it’s positioned next to the connector.
Why do have the tendency to use products with a bad relation speed/price? Do you care about speed?
Happy Friday 🙂
I’m very happy with this drive. It’s basically a plug n play, and set up time capsule in a few minutes. Very portable and whisper quiet. I got the space grey that matches my new MacBook Pro. Love it!
Hi Guys, Do you know if the drive is aluminium? I understand the top and bottom are but what about the sides?
help! I don’t understand what is this for? My husband bought me a Mac and this thing came with it
It’s “G-Technology” not “G-Drive” not sure why I said that. Anyway, preemptive comment before someone calls me out on it 😛
With USB C topping out at 10gbps, and most SSD averaging around 500mbs, why did Gdrive opt to use a mechanical HDD intend to using a SSD?
aside from the LED, the G is also upside down.
What is so special about this product and why so expensive? Can you buy an external 1TB for 50 bucks?
jeff I’ve been trying to find a video that shows me how to install drive to my macbook pro. I have G-Technology 8TB G-DRIVE G1 USB 3.0 Hard Drive but when i connect to my macbook pro nothing pops up. is there is software i need to install for my mac? if you can help i would appreciate it.
No size comparison
No mention and consideration of price
Wow
It’s better to have the indicator led at the same side as the usb connector because at least in some of my drives I get annoyed and headache from watching that blinking all the time.

Hey Jeff or whoever can help me, I have gotten the drive and it asks me if I want to encrypt it, I don’t know my encrypt password, will I be able to set one as I encrypt it? Thanks
P.S. I am running on the latest update and have a 2015 macbook pro retina display 13 inch.
will it work on Windows?
Great quickie Review Jeff. Can you please do a similar review of the new G-Drive slim SSD USB-C drive they just released? It looks like it’s got up to 540Mbps speeds!
