jurnagin says:

my goal is to have a extensive Media collection of music, movies, and photos!! I want about 20TB of storage!!

So I wonder is it best to use small hard drives verses large ones?

my logic is to have as many small drives as possible, like 3 or 4 TB, that way if a drive fail you will only loose a small amount of data,

and use large drives as backup storage only!!

ED boss says:

Do you put your video on YouTube then send the video from your computer to your hard drive and then delete it off your computer?

omgDannytv says:

Let’s say my laptop is very slow & can hardly edit , if I get a 4Tb External hard drive & run an editing program from it , will it make it faster & smoother for me to edit ???

Shohruh Rozikov says:

It’s really helpful info Sean

Jonathan McDonald says:

Love the videos bro…man you can help me out….I just purchased a 2016 MacBook Pro w/touchbar 2.9Ghz, 512 GB, Radeon pro 460 4GB. Running Final Cut……. Should I keep all of my “programs” i.e. Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, etc on a separate SSD and edit from there…..? And then when I am done with the footage, transfer it like a WD external for storage….?

Voss Vlogs says:

Sabrina Rosa says:

This is going to save my life their have been way too many times I’ve struggled with space issues and my laptop running super slow while transporting clips Lol

Seagate SUCKS!!! All my Seagate drives refuse to read. Nightmare!! If it was one, I can blame that hard but when all 3, after couple of years refuse to read is just horrible. Absolutely HORRIBLE. If you use Seagate, better buy another brand and copy all your files over. Because,I promise you, they will quit on you.

Christopher Smith says:

um question!! if I put games on an external hard drive could I still play them on my laptop?

Thanks for the help! Im currently using a HD per project. Its good until you stop labelling them and clients ask for old footage. Have you thought about cloud storage? Is this a no go area for video makers?

Miss Effenaii says:

If I remove the hard drive from my macbook and not put in a new hard drive, will my laptop have NO data in it whatsoever? Or will some of my data and pictures still be stored in my macbook even though the hard drive is removed?! Help please!!!

Thank you for your help! looking to start a channel.

Tom Gray says:

My macbook storage keeps on duplicating and tripling any videos i record. I deleted all after uploading the ones i needed to to “free up space” and i deleted around 70GB of storage, on my 120GB s
mac so theoretically should have aroun 50Gb and taken up but for some reason i still have 118GB taken up and most of it is under the title “system” which i cannot look at/edit the storage here

corey84douglass says:

who can answer this question? list three interfaces that could be used with a removable data storage unit such as an external hard drive?

I love the Seagate Backup Fast 4TB…. it’s portable, only 1 plug needed, and yes, it’s fast! 2-3x faster than a normal HDD, not quite as fast as SSD though.
